The problem we saw
A model tells you what the numbers say. Having run the business tells you whether to believe them. Most of the capital we watched arrive at our own companies had only the model.
Nine operating companies came first. The financial group came afterwards, built by the people who had already run them.
Figures across the group's operating companies.
Most capital is managed by people who have never carried a payroll through a bad quarter, renegotiated a supply contract, or explained a delayed project to the person running the plant. The group behind DRoyal has done all three, across technology, industry, agriculture, real estate and education. DRoyal exists so that operating judgment sits behind the capital as well as in front of it.
A model tells you what the numbers say. Having run the business tells you whether to believe them. Most of the capital we watched arrive at our own companies had only the model.
We built the financial group inside the operating group, so the people underwriting a sector are the people who have operated in it.
Fewer mandates, taken more slowly, with a written view of what we would decline and why. It changes what we say yes to.
To put capital to work with the patience and judgment of an owner.
The promise
Your capital is handled the way we handle our own, and you always know exactly what we are doing with it.
What the promise leaves out
It says nothing about return, and nothing about protection of principal. Both are outside anyone's control and outside what we are permitted to assure. The promise covers conduct, which is inside our control, and we would rather commit to something we can be held to.
Ten entities in the Dhanesh Indore Group. Nine of them are operating businesses, and one is a foundation. Each has its own customers, its own competition and its own way of being difficult, and each of those has taught us something we now underwrite with.

Decisions in sectors the group operates in are made by people with operating history in those sectors. They know which line in the model is the one that breaks.
The group commits its own capital into the strategies it runs, on the same terms as everyone else in them. Alignment sits in the structure.
The same conduct and the same disclosure across every entity, whether the counterparty is a sovereign investor or a member of the credit society.
A financial group inside an operating group raises two fair questions. Both deserve an answer before anyone has to put them to us.
Each entity is separately registered, separately capitalised and responsible for its own obligations. No group company guarantees the obligations of another, and nothing on this website should be read as implying otherwise.
The argument for DRoyal rests on judgment and alignment. Neither needs a guarantee.
Where any exposure to a group company exists, it sits under a related party framework: approved independently of the people who benefit from it, held inside stated limits, and disclosed rather than netted away.
We would rather publish the framework than be asked about it in a diligence call.
Who you are dealing with, what each entity may offer, and where to raise something all sit on one page rather than scattered across the site.
A compliance officer should be able to answer every question from one page.
Entities and licences
We built the businesses before we built the financial group. Every one of them taught us something about how capital behaves under pressure, and none of it came from a spreadsheet.
The group is founded and led by Dhanesh Indore. Each regulated entity operates under its own registration, with the board and the reporting that registration requires.
One conversation, no pressure. We will tell you what we would do with your capital, and what we would not.
